Hello, I'm Danielle Marr also affectionately known by my Jewish friends as “The Shamrock Shiksa” or “The Gaelic Goy”.

As many of my Jewish friends know, I'm an experienced Reality TV personality and Showrunner from Ireland and based full time in Los Angeles, my favorite place in the whole world. I grew in South County Dublin, which is basically Irish Beverly Hills, or as I like to call it Dublin 90210. I love LA with all my heart, we are one big blended family, and I love all humans, from all walks of life regardless of color, creed or religion. I do not care where you came from, only where you are going. Peace & Love to all.

Initially, I self-funded Becoming Jewish back in 2020 when I first registered it with WGA. Sadly, the production was canceled due to the pandemic.

During the 16 months that followed COVID shutdowns, I received my Green Card for exceptional talent and returned to Ireland to sell my house. After settling my mortgage, I moved to LA full time, with a determination to revive and reimagine the concept of my show once again investing my own funds from sale of my own property into "Becoming Jewish."

Despite the anticipation that the streamers and networks would embrace factual entertainment projects, the reality was harsh. The WGA & SAG/AFTRA strikes compounded by the stockpiling of titles across the Entertainment Industry meant a challenging time for all involved. Once again the tv & film landscape in LA looked like the 405 on a Friday. I naively reached out to my contacts in Europe, hoping to pitch "Becoming Jewish" to UK, Scottish, Irish and European networks where my journey in reality television began. However, I encountered resistance and a palpable lack of support for the title, which was initially perplexing. It was a painful and humbling realization to witness the lack of support for "Becoming Jewish”.

Despite facing anti-semetic bullying, I persisted in pitching “Becoming Jewish” across Europe, only to meet disappointment and rejection. I returned to Los Angeles feeling defeated, financially strained, and disheartened. After tirelessly explaining to Europeans the shared values, family bonds, and love for children that unites us with Jewish people, I was saddened to realize that Europe wasn't the audience I had hoped for.

The original plan was always for the show to air in the US, yet I had hoped to bridge cultural gaps by showcasing the beauty of people converting in "Becoming Jewish. Following weeks of despair and contemplation over the rise of European Anti-Semitism, I found solace in the unwavering support of my Jewish friends, who are like family to me. Their encouragement propelled me forward. An elder withing the Jewish Community explained I had not failed, I was just asking for support at the wrong table, and in the wrong room.

We are casting individuals ready to share their conversion journeys on camera, driven by their love and solidarity with the Jewish community. Our focus is clear: to produce a 40-minute television pilot and a compelling pitch deck to present to streaming platforms this autumn. We hope to be back in production by 7/14/2024, with a screening of the pilot late autumn.

The urgency stems from the realization that every moment without funding delays the opportunity to share these profound stories with the world. As beloved shows like "Jewish Matchmaker" and "Curb Your Enthusiasm" conclude, the need for more Jewish television content becomes increasingly necessary.

We are determined to fill this void and ensure that the journeys of those "Becoming Jewish" are heard and celebrated.
